World AIDS Day

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of World AIDS Day. Despite all of the advances in treating AIDS and preventing HIV, there’s still much work to be done. According a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control, 20% of HIV+ persons don’t know they have the virus. Of those that are aware, only 1 in 4 have their condition under control with medication.

I remember seeing a traveling exhibit of the AIDS quilt when I was in college. Now, on this 30th anniversary of the first diagnosis, you can contribute to a digital AIDS quilt. Go to http://www.2015quilt.com/ to make your square.
