The documentary film Waiting for Superman posits that one of the most distressing elements about our American education system is that despite trailing behind other industrialized countries in math, science, and overall literacy, Americans rank first in confidence. I wonder if there was an international religion test, how would we do? I doubt that we’d do very highly. Recently, the Pew Research Center revealed that those of faith scored the worst on their test about the world’s religions. How high would you score? The first test is from the Pew Research Center. The second test is from New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, author of Half the Sky, a personal favorite of mine. It’s harder than the first test, but also highlights the similarities between the major religions.
