I worked with and around Joe. He was truely an amazing person. Always caring and upbeat person. He will be remembered by many.

Thank you for sharing! I have many memories of Joe. I am one of the few who got to know him not only from high school, but to also get to work with him daily. We use to sit and talk about high school and the people that touched us, as well as a few who didn’t. You had even been topic of a few of our conversations, I hope you would be happy to know he thought as much of you as you did him.

As someone, who was also fortunate to be considered one of Joe’s inner circle of friends, this is a most fitting tribute to a great friend and brother. Joe and I were friends from the day we met until his unfortunate passing. Even though our lives took us to seperate parts of the country, we never failed to keep in touch or get together when I was in town. I am saddened by the loss of one of the few I truly considered friend, but bolstered by the imprint his tenacity for life left upon me.

Ms. Darnell,

You and I didn’t agree a lot in high school, however we seem to agree here. Joey was one of a kind and he will be missed by all who loved and understood him. His speech at Graduation, entitled “Utopia”, was perfect. He said what all the misunderstood and unpopular students of our class dare not say out loud and he did it with dignity and class.

Very beautiful Amy and very touching. Joe and I stayed in touch while we both worked at KDMC. Sadly, we lost touch after I left the hospital. Joe was very special. He was always a friend and supported me during a difficult time in my life. He will be missed.

Truly wonderful commentary about a life too short. I don’t know you, but I can tell you knew your students. As a teacher of many years, I can truly say that I learn so much from my students. Every day with them is a blessing. Goodbye is not an appropriate word for Joey, as I called him. Just “see you later” will do. God bless all of the family, and thanks for sharing.
